Guilt Trip or a Missed Opportunity?

8 Dec

Little Boy

A man with a white beard kneels down to a small, skinny and obviously malnourished child. There is monotone music playing as he explains the wretched situation of this helpless child living in the slums. I’m sure you’ve seen those commercials. You’ve probably thought—as I have in the past—oh no. Here they are, trying to guilt trip me again. But as I’ve studied the Bible and specifically Jesus’ own words and actions, I’ve come to a realization…

Today I saw a leader

(I am staff at Trail To Eagle camp this week at D-A in Metamora, MI. This camp is a specialized camp for older scouts who are working towards the rank of Eagle)

Jesus himself was a Foreign Missionary from heaven to us. By presenting the Gospel around the world, we are continuing His mission.

Jesus showed no regard for the cultural barriers of the time. One example of this was when … Read the rest

Way of the Master

Method Summary

The Way of the Master (WOTM) is a method created by Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. The method name is also the name of their ministry. It’s based on what Jesus actually did in regards to evangelism. The WOTM uses the Law for its second purpose—as a mirror to show how much we really need a Savior just as Jesus did (for example, with the woman at the well in John 4).

The method uses four letters to represent the four questions or stepping-stones: WDJD, which stand for “What Did Jesus Do?”

The four questions are as … Read the rest
