Recently, I have seen so much divisive language being passed around focused on the definition of marriage. It makes me sad that most of the thing I read are bashing another person’s deeply held beliefs instead of respectfully facilittating mutually beneficial discussion. In 1 John 4:8 a very remarkable statement is made. “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.“ Did you catch that? John the Apostle said, “God is love.” Later in the same section, John tells us the same thing, “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
